NATO hurtling towards collapse

In August 2022 in my article Coming collapse of NATO, I predicted that NATO would collapse with the loss of the NATO-backed Ukrainian war machine and gave reasons for this. Three years later, my opinion is likely to be vindicated.

Most people believe that the majority is right, but they are generally not, that is why I avoid crowds I was ridiculed and trolled for my views that this war was a proxy war by the West and now this reality is glaring at us in the face as US Secretary of State Marco Rubio recently confirmed.

Ukraine and NATO have exhausted themselves. Ukraine is on life support and the EU is in economic distress.

Here, some background information is necessary.

Post World War II America formed and led three groups or organisations SEATO, CENTO and NATO.

SEATO (The SouthEast Asia Treaty Organisation) was formed as an anti-Communist organisation in 1954. Its members were Australia, France, New Zealand, Pakistan, the Philippines, Thailand, the UK, and the USA. It was wound up in 1977 after the humiliating withdrawal of America from Vietnam.

CENTO (Central Treaty Organisation) was formed as an anti-Soviet organisation in 1959 with America, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, and the United Kingdom as its members. Following the fall of the Shah in 1979, Iran withdrew, and CENTO was dissolved.

NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organisation) is the most prominent child of that policy. Founded in 1949 soon after World War II, NATO's 32 members include Canada. USA and 30 most significant (out of 44) European countries. With the collapse of Ukraine, NATO in all probability will be wound up or neutered.

This can be attributed to several reasons, the chief being Trump's shifting focus from war to peace to restore America to economic health, whilst European leaders still suffering from Colonial hangover are hungry for conflict. Europe is doubling down on regaining global primacy. This is most visible in their rabid desire to destroy Russia using Ukraine and steal the resources of both Ukraine and Russia. This becomes apparent in the light of the act of piracy crafted in the UK-Ukraine 100-Year Partnership Declaration signed on Jan 16 2025 just 4 days before Trump's swearing-in as US President.

America wants to pivot to Asia where 6 of the fastest-growing economies in the world are located and take on China and North Korea. America also wants to calm down the Middle East and bring a lasting peace there. America believes its proxy war with Russia is unwinnable, and a major distraction, of little value, and Ukraine is a big drain on the American resources. The conflict in Ukraine is only uniting and strengthening Anti- American forces.

NATO under clause 5 of its charter mandates mutual assistance and its role was proclaimed primarily as self-defence. Europe itching for a fight with Russia hopes to drag America into a war with Russia by invoking clause 5. The marriage between America and Europe known as NATO is now unsustainable. America is unwilling to be dragged into a protracted war with American boots on the ground and a drain on American resources simply for feeding the greed of European Oligarchs and Banks, corrupt politicians and unelected bureaucrats.

For these and other reasons, America will either exit NATO or simply slash its commitments to NATO. With the exit of the USA, NATO will not have the funds, the equipment and the technology to fuel their war-mongering.

The British and Europeans are raiding their citizen's savings, raising new taxes and borrowing even more money to raise an estimated US$ One trillion to build an Anglo-European war machine independent of the USA.

In the meantime, the UK and Europe will have no choice but to continue to work with American military platforms and buy vast amounts of American weaponry, ammunition and spares for about two decades before their own Military Industry Complex becomes truly relevant if at all.

As distasteful as it may be for the Europeans, they will have to toe Washington's line,

whilst attempting to sort out their internecine squabbles. NATO is certainly going to be history only the speed of collapse is in question.
